Re-opening of Hwy One celebration
Drive from Monterey to Morro Bay

The State of California and Visit California are celebrating the re-opening of Highway One with a drive from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey to Morro Bay.
They have asked us to get one car to represent each of the 84 years of Highway One, from 1934 through 2018. The details of the program are below.
We would like to know if any of your members would be interested in participating. If so, please have them submit their name and contact information along with year, make, and model, and a photo if possible to;
Once car details have been received the owners will be advised if their car has been selected to participate in this celebration. We will then send out the particular details of the start at Monterey, the schedule for the day, and then the arrangements for car owners at Morro Bay
As this is a big promotion for California we would like to have a member of the media ride in each of the cars
We hope that you'll be able to participate and look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Kind regards
Tim McGrane

Dear Automobile Connoisseurs of California's
As you know, heavy rainfall and mudslides in early 2017 ravaged portions of
California's iconic Highway 1, resulting in significant infrastructure damage, multiple road closures and the full reconstruction of the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge.
While these challenges caused a tremendous loss of life, property and revenue forthese communities, we are thrilled Highway 1 will fully reopen in late July - four months ahead of schedule - and I would like to invite you to help celibrate this monumental moment.
To show the world Highway 1 is open and better than ever, Visit California has partnered with the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Visit SLO, CAL and Caltrans to create the Central Coast Highway 1 Coalition for
activation highlighting this 'Dream Drive" on August 9.
In a nod to 84 years of Highway 1, the event will assemble a convoy of automobiles from 1934 to 2018 for a caravan drive down the coast to San Luis Obispo County. An exclusive group of global  journalists and influencers will be along for the ride, which will conclude with a once-in-a-lifetime Golden Hour event and car rally.

Car culture is a foundational part of California's very identity, and to this event will shine a global spotlight on why how California has more to offer in the way of epic driving experiences than anywhere in the world. As we prepare for this event, we would love to include you and ensure your organization is a pat of this milestone reopening We would welcome your participation and look forward to working with WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to assemble our convoy.

Thank you for serving as a champion of California's tourism industry. I look forward to seeing you on the road.
