2020 Moss Beach Distillery

Drive and Brunch

(To be Rescheduled)

It is time to exercise your Cat & enjoy brunch at the Moss Beach Distillery April 5.

Join us for our first drive of the year followed by a display of our cats in the parking lot and then a delicious brunch while taking in spectacular ocean views. We’ll meet at four Bay Area locations to caravan to the Moss Beach Distillery located at 140 Beach Way, Moss Beach. This will be our fifth trip to this California Point of Interest. The restaurant is located on a cliff above a secluded beach with fabulous views. It’s famous both because mystery writer Dashiell Hammett frequented the establishment and used it as a setting for his detective stories and because long time JAG member Bernie Stein worked there in his teens!

We will all assemble in the parking lot south of the entrance by 10:45 to exhibit our Cats and socialize with brunch starting at 11:00.

The brunch includes:

  • An unlimited supply of fresh baked pastries
  • Fruit cup
  • A bottomless glass of orange juice, sparkling wine or Mimosas Coffee or tea and soft drinks
  • Choice of one entrée to be decided at the brunch

Because of the popularity of this event, we’ll take up the entire main dining room which can accommodate 64 people. It would be wise to make your reservation early as this event always sells out. Cost for the brunch (including tip & tax) will be the same as last year—$48 per person. Non-member guests (not including significant others) attending with a member may attend for a $5 additional fee and will need to sign a JCNA liability waiver. While some might feel this is a steep price to pay for brunch, the food is plentiful and delicious, the view is spectacular and the fellowship can’t be beat.

Payment can be made by:
• Check made out to JAG and sent to: JAG Treasurer, 37 Campbell Ln, Menlo Park CA, 94025
• PayPal either through the JAG website (below) or by sending money directly through PayPal to treasurer@jags.org
• Call Phil (650-854-4445) to charge to your credit card

For those wanting to participate in the drive, we’ll meet at several locations (South Bay, Peninsula, East Bay and San Francisco) to caravan to the Distillery. The exact locations will be sent to you via email at the beginning of April. Please let the drive leader for the site you’ll be joining know you be on their drive. If you drive directly to The Distillery, please allow ample time to arrive by 10:45 as the Sunday beach traffic can be heavy.
