JAG Goes to England

Phil Endliss - Treasurer

Join JAG as we travel to England this September to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the classic XK120.  On this trip members will visit some of the finest auto collections in the world, see some of the most interesting attractions in England and visit two Jaguar locations.  Our trip will start just as the Goodwood Revival ends on the afternoon of Sunday, September 9th and concludes the evening of Thursday, September 19th. The planned itinerary is as follows:

9th    Meet at hotel for kick-off dinner

10th    Brooklands Museum

11th    National Motor Museum

12th    Haynes Motor Museum & Fleet Air Arm Museum

13th    Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral & Bath

14th    Tour the Cotswolds

15th    Cotswold Motor Museum & Toy Collection

16th    Coventry Transport Museum & British Motor Museum

17th    Jaguar Castle Bromwich & Jaguar Classic Works (to be confirmed)

18th    Tour Oxford and Blenheim Castle

19th    Kew Gardens and the Museum of Water & Steam

Hotel accommodations will be firmed up once we reservations have been received. We plan to stay at the following (or similar) hotels:

  9th    Premier Inn, London Heathrow

10th    Careys Manor, Brockenhurst

11th    The Yeovil Court Hotel, Yeovil

12th    The Yeovil Court Hotel, Yeovil

13th    Combe Grove Hotel, Monkton Combe

14th    Premier Inn, Cheltenham Centre

15th    Premier Inn, Coventry

16th    Premier Inn, Coventry

17th    Premier Inn, Coventry

18th    Eynsham Hall, Witney

19th    Premier Inn, London Heathrow

Touring will be at a casual pace, beginning around 9:30am each day and ending by 4:30pm allowing time to relax and explore the local area before dinner. Arrangements will be finalized by the end of February when we know how many will be taking this trip. The planned cost for the trip will be $2,950 per person (plus $765 for single occupancy) including hotels, breakfast and dinner, local transportation and tour admission fees.  The location of the gala farewell dinner may necessitate a slight increase to the cost.  As participants may be departing from different airports and travelling to and from England on different days, transportation will be left to the individual to arrange but can be provided through our travel agent for an additional fee.  Alcoholic beverages, lunch, transportation to/from airports, travel insurance, porterage and tips are NOT included.

As September is a favorite travel month in England, we need to complete reservations by April 30th in order to lock in hotels. To reserve your space, please send your non-refundable deposit of $600 per person with your reservation. The balance will be due by May 30th.  Please note whether you will require one or two beds in your hotel accommodations.

Although this is not a JCNA sponsored event, participation in this trip is extended to other Jaguar clubs in JCNA and will be limited to 26 individuals.
